We live at a time when our ability to understand change is becoming almost as important as our ability to bring it about. Digital technology and artificial intelligence are accelerating that shift, while broader social, environmental and demographic changes are already reshaping our lives.
I founded KCS with one conviction: in the face of this complexity, knowledge and skills need to circulate more freely — across generations, charities and community organisations, local authorities, businesses and everyone who wants to put their abilities to useful purpose. What matters to me is not technology in itself, but what it enables when people can understand it, access it and make it their own: learning, choosing, creating, remaining independent and, in turn, helping others.
KCS is still at the beginning of its journey. As we grow, I want us to hold on to the same discipline: understand before we act, pass on what we know, and judge our usefulness by the autonomy we help make possible.
